Israel Believes the Strike on the Iranian Facility Met Its Goal, the Media Reports

WSJ: Israel believes strike on Iranian Isfahan site has achieved its goal

Israel believes the strike on the facility in Iran’s Isfahan has achieved its goal, the Wall Street Journal newspaper reported, citing sources close to discussions over the operation.

Earlier the WSJ, citing U.S. officials, reported that Tel Aviv was behind the drone attack on the Defense Ministry’s factory in Iran’s Isfahan.

The paper’s sources claimed that the attack on the Iranian Ministry of Defense facility was carried out by Mossad intelligence, and the strikes were carried out in four locations in the buildings of the facility. The sources described the Israeli operation as a success, without giving details.

On Sunday night, a massive explosion ripped through the city of Isfahan in central Iran. The country’s defence ministry later reported an unsuccessful attempt to attack a military facility with weapons using quadcopters carrying explosives. One of the drones was shot down, the other two hit defensive traps and exploded. On the same night there was an explosion and subsequent fire at an engine oil factory in the north-west of the country.

Al-Jazeera TV reported, citing an Iranian official, that initial signs pointed to Israeli involvement in the Isfahan attack.
