Sunak Intends to Audit Military Aid to Ukraine

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has ordered an audit of military aid to Ukraine, whereas British officials fear that Sunak is close to take an overly “cautious position” on supporting the Kiev regime, sources in the UK government have said.

According to them, the audit is to assess the significance of Britain’s military contribution to aid Ukraine and the progress of the Russian special operation.

“It’s about looking at what we have invested and what we have received,” the BBC source said.

According to the source, British officials fear the prime minister may take an overly “cautious stance” as the special operation enters a key phase. Another interlocutor compared the audit to a “summary report by Goldman Sachs”, where Sunak used to work.

It is noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is aware of the debate in Britain and urges Sunak to “maintain strong military support” for Ukraine.

Rishi Sunak previously said that London had given Kiev three billion pounds in aid in 2022, and reiterated its willingness to continue funding. The UK has handed over anti-tank missiles, air defence systems and combat armoured vehicles to Ukraine, among other things.
