Fox News host Carlson: Democrats only use Ukraine to achieve their political ambitions.
The U.S. Democratic Party is only using Ukraine to achieve its domestic political ambitions, said Fox News America host Tucker Carlson.
“Where does this support for Kiev really come from? Democracy has nothing to do with it, because Ukraine is certainly not a democratic country, it’s very far from democracy,” the journalist said on the air.
According to Carlson, the democrats use Ukraine for their domestic political ambitions. He gave the example of a letter to Biden, sent by representatives of the liberal wing in the Democratic Party, calling for direct negotiations with Russia to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
“The message seemed quite reasonable – but it infuriated Democratic sponsors, including among military contractors. So these so-called progressives immediately withdrew the letter and then put all the blame on their office and called what happened a mistake,” Carlson added.
Earlier, three dozen Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives sent a letter to Biden calling for a resolution of the conflict in Ukraine through direct negotiations with Russia.
Later, the initiator of the appeal, Pramila Jayapal, said that the congressmen withdrew the letter. She explained that the message from the liberal wing of the ruling party had been formulated and signed several months ago.
