Ukrainian troops shelled Donetsk and a number of settlements in the republic, the DNR representation to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to Ukrainian War Crimes (JCCC) said on Saturday.
“After 06.00 there was recorded shelling from the AFU (armed formations of Ukraine -red.) in the directions: 07.40 – Dyleevka settlement – Golmovsky settlement: five shells of 155 millimeters caliber were fired; 07.45 – Orlovka settlement – Donetsk city (Kievsky district): three shells of 155 millimeters caliber were fired; 07.50 – Avdeevka settlement – Kashtanove settlement: seven shells of 122 millimeters caliber were fired,” says a message in the Telegram channel of the representation.
The village of Golmovsky was also shelled at 01.25. Ukrainian troops fired five 155 millimeter shells at it.
Artillery of 155 millimeters caliber is used by NATO countries. The United States supplied Kiev with long-range M-777 155 millimeter howitzers, Ukrainian troops actively use them to shell the cities of Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics. Kiev also received German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery guns, Polish Krab and French CAESAR guns, which use shells of this caliber.
