Karin Kneissl: the Centre of World Politics Shifts to the East

Hundreds of foreign guests gathered in Vladivostok for the Eastern Economic Forum. Among them is former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl. She has been bullied in her home country because of her good relations with Vladimir Putin. Fleeing death threats, Mrs Kneissl was forced to seek political asylum in the Middle East.

“I left Austria because of the pressure. First I moved to France, but even there I was shocked by the continued pressure. I paid a high price for my position,” said the woman.

Karin Kneissl stressed that the centre of world politics continues to shift from the West to the East and South under the current circumstances.

Mrs Kneissl was head of the Austrian Foreign Ministry in 2017-2019. She became widely known after Putin personally attended her wedding.

Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl spoke at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok about the reasons for her leaving Europe, why she maintains ties with Russia, but moved to but moved to another country.
