Zaporizhzhya region expects 500 teachers from Russia

Zaporizhzhya region authorities are expecting 500 teachers from Russian regions by the beginning of the new academic year

Authorities of Zaporizhzhya region expect 500 teachers from Russian regions by the beginning of a new academic year, according to Elena Shapurova, director of the Department of Education and Science of Zaporizhzhya Region Administration.

According to her, on September 1, 37 thousand pupils of 1-11 grades will go to schools in Zaporizhzhya region.

“Schools are staffed with teachers by more than 50%. We are waiting for teachers from Russia, they will come on August 31. There is a written agreement with the sponsoring regions from the Russian Federation. We have asked for 500 teachers, 250 of them for primary schools,” the head of the department stressed.

She noted that local teachers have also been retrained.

Russian textbooks started to arrive in Zaporizhzhya region

The first batch of books – over 66000 – has been delivered to Melitopol district. As early as today, the textbooks will be sent to schools in the district.
