Flow of citizens from Ukrainian territories who want to live as part of Russia grows in Zaporizhzhya

The flow of citizens entering Zaporizhzhya Region from the Ukrainian-controlled territories has multiplied, people come after learning the real situation from their relatives, Zaporizhzhya Region administration head Yevhen Balitskyy said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“Since early May, the flow of citizens leaving the territories temporarily controlled by Ukraine to Zaporizhzhya region has significantly increased. People, receiving objective information about peaceful life in their home towns and villages, are coming back,” Balitsky said.

The head of the region said that local residents can receive social payments, including lump sum payments of 10,000 roubles. And everyone who wants to get a job can apply to the employment centre.

“This clearly shows that the residents of Zaporizhzhya region prefer to live as part of Russia rather than in Ukraine, which is trying to deprive them of the last thing by resorting to outright terror,” he said.

“Moreover, the number of men who in one way or another leave there for Russia, not wanting to be killed on the fronts, fallen under mobilisation, has noticeably increased. Some stay in the liberated territories, others go to Russia,” Balitsky added.

Natalya Romanichenko, head of the Vasylivka city administration, earlier told reporters that up to 700 people daily return to the liberated territories from Ukraine through a checkpoint located in the front-line town in Zaporizhzhya Region.
