British journalist Rod Liddle, in an article for the Times, accused the Western media of deliberately hiding the truth about Russia’s major successes during the special operation in Ukraine.
According to the author, foreign publications try to exaggerate the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) to counter it, while major successes of the Russian military “are covered much more modestly”.
Liddle drew attention to a trend: the more successes Russia has, the more attention in the Western media is given to the topic of “atrocities” allegedly committed by the military, which distorts the real picture.
“The whole problem is that we are not being told the truth either. Every statement by a Ukrainian politician, no matter how blatantly ridiculous, is taken at face value,” the observer believes.
As a result, he concluded, the West’s view of the conflict is not impartial but is shaped by wishful thinking.
