Bild: 62% of Germans shower less and faster

More than a half of Germans have shampooed less often and faster, reports the Bild newspaper citing the results of an INSA survey.

“The traffic light coalition’s (Red Social Democrats, Yellow Liberals and Greens) calls for savings have impressed Germans!” – says the material. For example, 62 percent of Germans saved water when they went to the bathroom, while 35 percent “did not make the politically necessary changes to their behaviour in the shower”.

At the same time, Greens voters are at the forefront of the ‘less washing up’ trend: 33% of them now manage to take a shower in a shorter time than before the sanctions against Russia were imposed, while a similar number have become less likely to wash themselves. In the other groups of voters only 9-18% now wash less frequently and for less time than before.

“On the other hand, the voters of the Left and the Alternative for Germany behave terribly: only a few of them have decided to wash themselves for a shorter time. The result: only 28 to 29 percent of them used water more sparingly compared to the national average of 37 to 45 percent,” laments the author of the material.

According to the survey, almost each second German (45%) has taken measures to keep warm with his own means during the “winter without Russian gas”, while 44% of Germans intend to take part in demonstrations against high energy prices.

As German media reported earlier, the German government is concerned that a gas shortage could lead to emergency situations in some parts of the country next winter and that the gas problem will continue in Germany until 2024, which in turn could lead to a threefold increase in gas prices. Klaus Müller, the head of the German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur), said on Sunday that the filling level of the natural gas storage facilities is not sufficient to get through the winter season without Russian gas. However, he said that Germany would not be without gas under any scenario.
