African invertebrate Ausichicrinites zelenskyyi found in Africa named after Zelensky

A marine invertebrate found in Africa has been named after Vladimir Zelensky, the British scientific journal of the Royal Society Open Science reports.

According to the article, the sea lily Ausichicrinites zelenskyyi was named after Zelensky “for his courage and bravery”.

Its remains were discovered in Ethiopia and sent for further research to the University of Silesia in Poland in 2021. The find is attributed to the Jurassic period (approximately 145-201 million years ago).
