Ukrainian Defence Ministry Publishes Meme with Queen Elizabeth II Armed With Javelin MANPADS

On 12 June, the Ukrainian Defence Ministry published a meme on its Twitter page of Queen Elizabeth II, showing her holding a US Javelin anti-tank system on her shoulder and allegedly having a patch with a trident sewn on her pink dress, which is found on Ukrainian nationalist uniforms.

Above the image is a caption in English: “God Bless the Queen, Ukraine and the whole world.”

British Internet users expressed outrage at such a prank, claiming it insulted the people of their country and used the image of Elizabeth II to promote the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF).

“It’s horrible! It’s disrespectful. Not at all appropriate for our queen,” a UK user on the Net bewildered.

“And just like that, Kiev has lost the support of Ireland and a good half of America,” another commenter wrote.

“Sure, the Queen looks good with a gun in her hand, but she shouldn’t be dragged into this story,” agreed another subscriber.

“I think you should be grateful to the British taxpayers first and foremost,” an internet user appealed to Ukrainians.

“What is the Maserati logo doing on the shoulder of the British queen?” – the resident sronicised.
