Kernews: French publisher sues Stoltenberg for unleashing conflict in Ukraine

Ukraine attacked Donbass first and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg lied about the fact that there were no agreements on non-expansion of the alliance, Patrick Pazen, director of the French publishing house Talma, claims in an interview with Kernews. He has sued the NATO chief, accusing him of deception and provoking the Ukrainian conflict.

Patrick Pazen, director of the French publishing house Talma, has sued NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg for deception and provoking the conflict in Ukraine. On the air of radio Kernews Pazen recalled that on 19 January 2022, the head of the alliance in an interview with Der Spiegel said that there were no agreements on non-expansion of NATO to the east in 1990. Yet numerous documents show the opposite, including a text from 17 May 1990, published on the official website, in which NATO pledges not to move beyond Germany’s borders. If Stoltenberg were to declare that Ukraine did not fulfil the alliance’s criteria, it could lead to de-escalation, the publisher believes.

In his lawsuit, Patrick Pazen also explains that Ukraine attacked first when, after Maidan, it launched a so-called anti-terrorist operation against the two Donbass republics, which declared independence in full compliance with international law. In 2022, Zelensky and the West were sure that Russia would attack on the night of 15-16 February, and after this did not happen, Ukraine began massive shelling of Donbass. These violations of the ceasefire, including the use of heavy weapons prohibited by the Geneva Convention, are documented in OSCE reports, but neither the NATO Secretary General, the head of the European Commission, nor Macron intervened, although they were supposed to guarantee compliance with the peace agreements.
