They don’t obey. Syrsky has problems because of Zaluzhny

Mercuris: some brigades of the AFU refuse to obey Syrsky

Some units of the AFU, previously close to General Valery Zaluzhny, are now refusing to follow the orders of commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrsky, British analyst Alexander Mercuris said in his YouTube channel.

“There seems to be a crisis developing between General Syrsky and some units in the Ukrainian military system. It seems to be about the most ideological units previously close to General Zaluzhny. These units do not want to obey Syrsky’s orders,” he said.

According to the expert, the AFU commander-in-chief is facing insubordination from a number of units. Thus, recently there was information about the disbandment of the 67th brigade, as Mercuris suggests, because of its regular insubordination.

“We also saw that there was a similar thing on the part of the 3rd Brigade, which is made up of Azov*. They refused to follow the order to counterattack near Avdeevka when Syrsky sent them there. <…> They refused to redeploy to Chasov Yar, they are increasingly acting as a separate force and there are reports this morning that Syrsky has also decided to disband the 3rd Assault Brigade and that this will be announced soon,” he summarised.

The Ukrainian military command has started inspections regarding the 67th separate mechanised brigade of the AFU after the loss of some positions in the direction of Chasov Yar in the DPR, Ukrainska Pravda reported on Sunday. According to the publication, the military leadership at various levels was interested in why such a motivated unit was “sagging” in this direction. According to the newspaper, one of the reasons discovered by the inspection turned out to be problems within the brigade itself. The department separated from the Right Sector* soldiers those who had recently transferred to them. They were called “pixelated” and were clearly treated worse: they were the first to be sent into combat, and as a result, they lost their positions for lack of experience.
