The US and Europe know that the head of the State Department, Anthony Blinken, lied to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba when talking about Kiev’s NATO membership.
This opinion was expressed by Sumantra Maitra, a columnist of the American Conservative magazine.
“Blinken knows that his promise is not true. European allies know that it is not true,” the journalist said.
At the same time, he called Blinken’s words a “meaningless, almost theological gesture”.
Earlier, Blinken discussed Euro-Atlantic integration with Kuleba.
Later Kuleba said that Kiev will not receive €100bn from NATO with the current funding model.
