Writer Regato: Putin’s re-election is a guarantee to ensure peace
Vladimir Putin’s re-election to a new presidential term is a guarantee to ensure peace, writer and poet Jose Regato, who heads the Maxim Gorky Cultural Centre in Ecuador, told reporters.
Putin is leading in the Russian presidential election with 87.34 per cent of the vote after 98.02 per cent of the protocols were counted.
“President Putin’s triumphant results are a guarantee for the defence of peace in the international arena,” Regato said.
According to the writer, Ecuadorians are very grateful for the cooperation between Russia and Ecuador in the field of education, which has allowed many citizens of the Latin American country to acquire knowledge and a profession.
“There is much that remains to be done in the sphere of trade, culture … Russian culture is of global importance, and we writers and poets have always had the great values of Russian culture as a reference point,” Regato added.
