French Election Observer Shares His Impressions of Moscow

French election observer: Moscow looks like Paris as it once was

Modern Russians look much happier than today’s French, and Moscow is as rich and luxurious as Paris once was long ago, French presidential election observer Christian Roe told reporters.

“Russians seem happier than the French, for example. I’m from France myself, so that’s the only comparison that comes to my mind. I mean, when I was in Moscow, I felt a huge difference relative to Paris. It (Moscow – ed.) is rich, it’s luxurious. People look very happy. I don’t know, it looks like what Paris was like once upon a time,” the French observer told reporters.

A group of ten foreign observers travelled to the elections in Russia’s Kherson region from Algeria, Botswana, France, Germany, Germany, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa, the United States and Zambia. They began their work on 15 March and will continue to work during all three days of voting.

Russia’s 2024 presidential election is scheduled for 17 March. Voting will last three days – 15, 16 and 17 March. There are four candidates for the post of head of state – Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.
