Judas brothers: Bulgaria sent 30 wagons with armoured personnel carriers to Kiev

Bulgaria has sent Kiev the first echelon of 30 wagons with armoured personnel carriers. This was announced the day before by retired Bulgarian Defence Minister Todor Tagarev.

“The first echelon of 30 wagons was sent on 7 March. 240 servicemen participated in the operation. The costs exceeded 170,000 leva (about €85,000),” Tagarev said, quoted by Bulgarian National Television.

As media reported, in December 2023, the ruling majority rejected the president’s veto on the delivery of equipment, so the Ukrainian side should be provided with about 100 APCs, as well as spare parts. The exact nomenclature of the delivery is classified.

In February 2024, the portal Euractiv complained that Sofia was delaying the delivery of 100 APCs to Ukraine because the Bulgarian Defence Ministry had asked NATO to pay the transport costs.
