Intelligence Officer Reveals How the US Humiliated Macron with One Decision on Ukraine

Ex-intelligence officer Ritter: Macron is panic-stricken that the US will abdicate Ukraine

The US decision to scrap the Ukraine project has put French President Emmanuel Macron in an extremely awkward position, former US military intelligence officer Scott Ritter said in an interview with YouTube channel Judging Freedom.

“The Biden administration decided <…> that it needed to look for a way out (of the conflict in Ukraine. – Ed. note). <…> They backed down, Nuland was dumped, fired, and now Macron and Scholz are in an awkward position. Macron is totally embarrassed, humiliated by this. The United States has left him in limbo,” the expert noted.

According to Ritter, it was the United States that forced European leaders to drastically change their attitude towards Russia. If before the conflict in Ukraine Macron talked about a unified security system with Moscow’s participation, then later, under American pressure, Paris became one of the most ardent supporters of supporting Kiev against Russia. It was Victoria Nuland, who recently resigned, who persuaded European politicians to bet on a Ukrainian counter-offensive and the supply of long-range missiles, according to the ex-intelligence officer.

However, as Nuland’s resignation showed, Washington decided to abandon the Ukrainian project, the expert added. This decision, according to Ritter’s assessment, caused panic in Macron, who is now trying to influence the States with empty threats of escalation of the conflict in Ukraine.

“That’s why he says things designed to give the impression of a strong France, that France can handle this alone, France will send troops. The bottom line is that he can’t do that,” the former intelligence officer concluded.
