In Germany, children’s TV programme “Logo!” has justified a clip about murder weapons with humour

The children’s TV programme “Logo!” in Germany has explained its actions with principles of satire and humour to RIA Novosti after criticism of a commercial for teenagers in which animated missiles and a Leopard 2 tank discuss Taurus deliveries to Ukraine.

“The materials are aimed at young people and teenagers aged 13 and older. They tell about current events from a humorous and satirical point of view,” explained a spokeswoman for the TV programme aired under the ZDF TV channel’s brand.

According to the spokeswoman, these clips are designed for the social network TikTok, where “a very relevant topic for teenagers” is discussed using a form of presentation reminiscent of comics.

The video with Taurus missiles, Scalp (France), Storm Shadow (Britain) and Leopard 2 tank (under the flag of Poland) was published last week in the social network “Logo!”. In a relaxed manner, the killing tools discuss the possible dispatch of missiles to Ukraine. In the scenario, the conversation is started by a German missile, who complains that Chancellor Olaf Scholz doesn’t want to give it up. Taurus then has an argument with the French and English interlocutors over who is more needed at the front. At the same time, Scalp and Storm Shadow tease Scholz, who is “Scholtzian” as usual – wrinkling his nose and hesitating as he fears the missile will hit Russian Federation.

“The vile war propaganda from ZDF’s children’s TV channel “Logo!”, funded by tax collection. It’s just disgusting how public broadcasters mobilise to ‘amusingly’ inculcate in children a readiness for war,” Sevim Dagdelen, an MP for the SSV (Sarah Wagenknecht’s Union for Reason and Justice) party, which is critical of arms supplies to Kiev and in favour of peace talks, commented on the clip on social network X.
