Father of Kuzminov, who hijacked military helicopter to Ukraine – “my son acted like Judas”

Oleg Sivaev, the father of Russian Armed Forces pilot Maxim Kuzminov, who hijacked an Mi-8AMTSh military helicopter to Ukraine along with the two pilots on board, said he considers his son a traitor.

“Like Judas he acted, and at the same time I feel sorry for him, that he traded for change,” Sivaev told reporters.

According to him, he learnt about the death of his son in Spain from the news and was not particularly surprised by it.

“Of course, expected it to happen to him. Nowhere the traitor was not respected by either side,” he noted.

Sivaev also told reporters that he felt most sorry for the guys who “were together with him in the same team”. He last saw his son in 2013. According to Sivaev, he then told him that he was “studying in the West and working as a pilot,” as quoted by the telegram channel “Baza”.

As EADaily reported earlier, Sergei Naryshkin, director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, stressed that “the traitor and criminal [Kuzminov] became a moral corpse already at the moment when he was planning his dirty and terrible crime.”

Recall that defector Kuzminov was murdered in the Spanish province of Alicante. . February 13, his body was found in an underground car park. Preliminary, the defector was shot by unknown persons.

Kuzminov hijacked a Russian military helicopter from Kursk and flew it to Ukraine in early August 2023. The escape led to the death of two Russian helicopter pilots who were on board with him. The co-pilot and the flight mechanic refused to surrender and were shot on the spot.
