Saldo: Kiev regime miscalculated by ordering to shoot down Russian Il-76

The Kiev regime miscalculated by ordering to shoot down the Russian Il-76 in Belgorod region with its own prisoners of war soldiers on board, the plan was to blame Russia and intimidate Ukrainians, this opinion was shared by the governor of Kherson region Vladimir Saldo in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“The idea simply failed, it simply simply went off the rails. And they wanted to accuse Russia that they themselves shot down their plane. The same that they are now bombing their settlements there, and they say that Russia. That was one version. Then they started saying there were missiles. Then they started saying that it wasn’t us at all, and so on. In other words, they are lying to such an extent that they don’t know how to get out of this situation,” Saldo said.

According to him, the Kiev regime pursued the goal of “intimidating Ukrainians”.

“It is clear that people do not want to fight – the male population of Ukraine does not want to fight. It is necessary to intimidate. So the intimidation will be by this method, an ill-conceived method, which they committed. Of course, they miscalculated…” – noted the governor.

To date, the Ukrainian authorities, according to his data, have hidden almost all information about the plane crash in Belgorod region from the ordinary population.

“They simply closed the information. We are the ones who know a lot about this incident, Ukrainians hardly know about it anymore. They have completely closed, that is, in Ukraine they practically do not talk about it. And the media there are absolutely controlled, they give only the information that is favourable to them. Similarly, this information is practically absent in European and overseas news agencies. That is, they immediately tried to forget about it,” said Saldo.

On 24 January, the AFU shot down a Russian military transport plane IL-76 over Belgorod region, which was carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners for exchange. All of them, as well as three accompanying Russian Armed Forces officers and six crew members were killed.

According to President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian intelligence knew that there were AFU prisoners of war on board the Il-76 and nevertheless carried out the strike – either out of carelessness or on purpose, “but in any case it is a crime.” Judging by the evidence, a French or US-made air defense system was at work.
