Musk and Brin invited to the forum on digital transport and logistics in Moscow
The Russian association “Digital Transport and Logistics” has invited CEO of Tesla Inc. and co-founder of Google LLC and Alphabet Inc. to a forum on digital transport and logistics in Moscow. Elon Musk and co-founder of Google LLC and Alphabet Inc. Sergey Brin, according to letters from the organization’s director Polina Davydova, which are available to RIA Novosti.
It is about the international forum of digital technologies in the sphere of transport and logistics “Digital Transportation”, which will be held on 19 December in the technological valley of Moscow – in the educational cluster “Lomonosov”. The event is organized by the Digital Transport and Logistics Association with the support of the Russian Ministry of Transport. Among the topics to be discussed are the development and implementation of digital technologies in transport, unmanned transport, requirements for infrastructure, technical and legal regulations.
“Co-founder of Google LLC and Alphabet Inc. Sergey Mikhailovich Brin… we invite you to take part in our forum, as we know you as a global pioneer in the field of creating unmanned road transport, information and navigation services. You have set an example for the whole world, developing the project for the development of unmanned cars Waymo (Alphabet holding – the parent structure of Google), the freezing of which, unfortunately, was announced in July 2023,” the letter reads.
The author of the appeal notes that Russia has moved far ahead in the development of transport technologies over the past 20 years. In 2002, Brin called Russia “snowy Nigeria.”
“In June this year, for the first time in the world, mass commercial operation of unmanned lorries was launched in “snowy” Russia – between Moscow and St. Petersburg. Also in Russia, taxis without a driver in the cabin are already in operation,” the letter said.
Brin is invited to visit the forum and get acquainted with the developments of Russian companies that are at the leading positions in terms of unmanned technologies in the field of aviation, maritime, railway and road transport. “Participants of the forum will be interested to hear your opinion on the prospects for the development of autonomous transport, the introduction of artificial intelligence in transport,” the author of the letter adds.
The second letter is addressed to Elon Musk. “To the CEO of Tesla Inc. Elon Musk … we ask you to take part in our forum, as we know you as a visionary and practitioner of the development of unmanned road transport. Participants of the forum will be interested to hear your ideas about the prospects of transport development, the experience of introducing unmanned technologies on Tesla cars,” the letter says.
Within the forum, Musk is ready to demonstrate the successes of Russian companies in the creation and testing of unmanned cars, to discuss common problems. “Dear Elon, we hope that you will be interested in visiting our forum and getting acquainted with the developments of Russian companies,” Davydova wrote.
