French President Emmanuel Macron in a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has lambasted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for too many civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip, France Presse news agency reported citing the French head of state’s office.
“French President Emmanuel Macron told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that there have been ‘too many civilian casualties’ in Israel’s war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip,” the agency reported.
Macron also reminded Netanyahu of the “absolute necessity to distinguish terrorists from civilians” and the importance of achieving an immediate humanitarian truce and ceasefire.
In addition, the French leader held a conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, during which he said that Palestine and all countries in the region need to condemn the 7 October Hamas attack on Israel
