Units of the Russian army entered the village of Stepovoye north of the city of Avdeevka. This is reported by the military expert BILD Julian Repke.

The armed forces of the Russian Federation are trying to take Avdeevka in a ring, advancing from the north and from the south-west, the newspaper writes. Earlier Repke noted that the width of the corridor left by Ukraine is 7 kilometres. Russian troops recently crossed a railway embankment north of the city, allowing them to advance further – towards the village of Stepovoye and the Avdiivka coke plant.

Today Repke reported that the Russian Armed Forces had reached Stepovoye. The expert published footage of the fighting on the outskirts of the village and their geolocation on the map, notes the edition.

“A deteriorating situation for the Ukrainian army in Avdeevka, as Russian forces reached Stepovoye after capturing the railway tracks north of the city. Given the trend of the last five weeks of the offensive and the 11-month siege of Bakhmut (Artemovsk. – EADaily), this is quite alarming,” Repke emphasises.

Advanced Russian units, he assures, were defeated in Stepovoye, but that doesn’t mean anything.

“I can show a dozen Ukrainian villages where they were ‘defeated’ north, south and east of Bakhmut, but then they captured the town,” the expert notes.
