Telegraph: Failures at the front have broken Zelensky

The failures of the Ukrainian troops at the front have broken Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. The Telegraph newspaper The Telegraph wrote about it the day before.

“Amid a stalled offensive, tensions between Ukraine’s political and military leadership, which are usually kept secret, have spilled over into the public domain. This is a sign that may indicate that Zelensky has been broken,” the article said.

It is noted that Zelensky first criticized commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny, who said that the situation on the front was stalemate for Ukrainian troops. According to the newspaper, such an open split between Kiev’s military and politicians occurred after 20 months of fighting.

As the newspaper pointed out, Kiev did not like the fact that the situation on the front line was characterized as “deadlocked”.

On 8 November, Zelensky said during his speech via video link at a conference organized by Reuters that Kiev would continue its counter-offensive this year and next year, despite the fact that the situation on the front line is now dire.

Zaluzhny said in an interview on 1 November that Ukrainian troops are unable to achieve a breakthrough as the conflict has reached a stalemate. Prolonging hostilities carries great risks, he said. Commenting on Zaluzhny’s position, Zelensky called the situation on the front “not a stalemate,” while admitting that the Ukrainian army’s offensive is difficult due to the Russian forces’ control over the sky. Also, the deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Ihor Zhovkva, said that the commander-in-chief’s statement was inappropriate and caused panic among the leadership of Western countries.
