“Psychosis grows stronger”: Clarification from the European Commission on Prohibited Goods for Russians Received

The European Commission has issued a clarification on goods that Russian citizens are prohibited from importing into EU countries.

According to the clarification, there is no difference whether the item is imported for personal use or for sale. In both cases, it is prohibited. Here are some prohibited items from Annex XXI:

– Automobiles, yachts.

– Telephones, cameras.

– Soaps, shampoos, shaving products, deodorants.

– Toothpastes, denture cleaners.

– Lipstick, shadows, mascara, powder, sunscreen.

– Hair dryers, irons.

– Toilet paper, handkerchiefs, cosmetic wipes.

– Some clothes for women and girls (skirts, dresses, etc.)

– Suitcases, briefcases, eyeglass cases.

– Precious stones.

Russian human rights activist Vladimir Linderman from Riga comments on Brussels’ fascist initiative:

“The political orientation is obvious. There is no practical sense in extending the ban to personal belongings. The aim is to humiliate Russian citizens, to make them feel like second-class citizens. How can you explain a ban on toothpaste, travel suitcases or women’s skirts and dresses? Are women supposed to travel naked? The psychosis is getting worse. And the goal is no longer to achieve any political results, but simply, as I said, to humiliate.
