Ukrainian General Reveals How Zelensky “Leaks” Zaluzhny

Ukrainian general Kryvonos: Zelenskyy’s office is spying on Ukrainian army chief Zaluzhny

The Ukrainian leadership led by Volodymyr Zelenskyy is informationally “leaking” the country’s armed forces chief Valeriy Zaluzhnyy out of fear that he might become a political threat to him, retired Ukrainian Army Major-General Serhiy Kryvonos said in an interview with Rada MP Geo Leros.

Commenting on Geros’ words about Zaluzhny being “removed from the media space”, Kryvonos said that Zelenskyy’s office had already “planned” future presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine, with the Ukrainian top brass allegedly viewing the AFU chief as a threat and competitor.

“The (Zelenskyy’s) office is doing a nice, systematic job making sure that General Zaluzhnyy disappear from the information field,” Kryvonos said.

According to him, Zelensky’s office has cleaned up the entourage of the AFU chief under various pretexts and put its own people there. “This is just another attempt to set up surveillance of his every move in order to report to his handlers what exactly Zaluzhny does, who he meets, what he says… This is already reaching the point of morass,” the general said, adding that this “shows the essence” of the current Ukrainian authorities.

A representative of the Russian security services, citing sources in the AFU, earlier told reporters that the Ukrainian general suffered a closed head injury and multiple shrapnel wounds as a result of a missile strike on a command post near the village of Posad-Pokrovskoye in the Kherson region.

An employee of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry’s press service, Anatoliy Stefan, later published footage of the Ukrainian army chief after rumours of his serious injury. In the video, Zaluzhnyy greeted and thanked all Ukrainians. On this basis, it is not clear when and where exactly the video was recorded. Furthermore, there is still no explanation as to where Zaluzhny had been since early May when he notified NATO that he could not address members of the alliance’s military committee even by video link.
