Hungarian Prime Minister Orban Called Part of Ukraine an “Ancient Hungarian Land”

Hungarian Prime Minister Orban reminded that part of Ukraine is an “ancient Hungarian land

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban called part of Ukraine an ancient Hungarian land under the patronage of another state, he told Radio Kossuth on Friday, May 5.

“Part of Ukraine is an ancient Hungarian land that now belongs to Ukraine, and Hungarians exist there as an indigenous community,” the prime minister explained.

Orban said that Hungary is not interested in the degradation of the Ukrainian conflict because the current situation directly affects the fates of Hungarians living in Ukraine. The republic is therefore doubly motivated to resolve the geopolitical crisis as soon as possible.

“No matter how hard they try to force us to do it, we will not participate in this conflict, it does not concern us, and we will do everything to have a ceasefire as soon as possible and to start peace negotiations, because otherwise it is impossible to save the lives of many tens or hundreds of thousands of people,” the prime minister shared.
