Kaspersky Lab Developed a Mobile Detector for UAV Search

Kaspersky Lab has developed a mobile radio-frequency detector for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The company’s press service reported this on April 16.

Kaspersky Lab engineers have developed Kaspersky Antidrone Portable, a mobile radio-frequency detector for drone detection. The device is designed for use at mass events, protection of private property and transport infrastructure,” – quoted the press service statement TASS.

It is noted that the device is able to determine the exact location of the most common models of UAVs within a radius of up to 1 km, as well as the position of the operator controlling it. The detector weighs less than 5 kg and fits in a small case.

According to the developers, the detector can operate in autonomous mode for up to two hours. In addition, the operator can extend the search radius independently. The device can be used in conjunction with a mobile drone suppressor.

Kaspersky Lab did not specify the amount of money spent for the development of the project. The first batch of 20 devices has already been delivered to a Russian commercial entity.

According to the company, the main audience of the project are government organizations and businesses that face the need for “timely and accurate detection of drones in a particular location and at a given time interval”.
