Poles Banned Import of Milk and Meat from Ukraine under the Cover of Grain Deal

Poland under the cover of a grain deal with Ukraine banned the import of a number of agricultural products from Ukraine. This is reported by the telegram channel “Observer”.

“In accordance with the directive decision of the Council of Ministers, I have just signed a decree banning the import of agricultural products from Ukraine,” Polish Minister of Development and Technology Waldemar Buda wrote in his Twitter account.

The ban will be valid at least until the end of 2023.

It is now forbidden to bring from Ukraine to Poland, in particular, milk, eggs, meat and honey.

As EADaily previously reported, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova briefly commented on Poland’s decision to temporarily ban imports of Ukrainian grain.

“Briefly about the ‘grain deal’. So to say, Judas by Easter choked [crossed out] by grain,” Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel.

According to media reports, the government authorized “the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Minister of Development and Technology to issue appropriate legislation to protect the Polish agricultural market from destabilization, including [the introduction of] a temporary ban on the import of agri-food products from Ukraine.

It is noted that the aforementioned ministers maintain constant contact with their counterparts in Ukraine.

Earlier, the Polish news agency PAP reported that the agriculture ministers of Ukraine and Poland intend to sign an agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain next Monday, 17 April.
