Times: Ukraine ready to use British long-range missiles to hit Crimea

Ukraine is ready to use British missiles to strike targets in Crimea, Times columnist George Grylls has said.

“Ukraine is ready to use British long-range missiles to strike targets in Crimea,” he wrote.

The paper’s sources in the Ukrainian Defence Ministry confirmed that Kiev was exploring such a scenario.

“Negotiations are now under way to decide exactly how many British long-range missiles can be sent,” the columnist added.

According to the article, they are talking about sending Harpoon anti-ship missiles with a range of 150 miles (about 241 kilometres – Ed. note), which can be adapted to strike ground targets. The Storm Shadow aircraft missile was also mentioned, which could hit a target at ranges up to 350 miles. Sending such long-range missiles would mean that London would go further than Washington, which supplies shorter-range missiles, in support of Ukraine, Grylls said.

On Thursday, Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the Council of Europe in Brussels and called on European countries to provide modern weaponry as aid to Ukraine.
