German politician Schulz condemns Melnyk’s request to supply Kiev with scrapped fighter jets
Kiev will never receive the decommissioned Tornado fighter jets that Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Melnyk requested from Chancellor Scholz, German politician Gauke Schulz said on Twitter.
“You will never get Tornado. <…> They protect us in Germany and will not lead us to war with Russia,” Schulz said.
He also added that he knows people who work with the fighters and that they would not want such “misuse” of the equipment.
Earlier Melnyk published on his microblog an appeal to the German chancellor in which he suggested to send Ukraine 93 Tornado fighter jets, which, according to the Ukrainian deputy foreign minister, are subject to decommissioning.
