Croatian President Accuses US and NATO of Waging War Against Russia Through Ukraine

Croatian President Milanovic has said that the US and NATO are waging war against Russia in Ukraine

The United States and the North Atlantic Alliance are waging a proxy war against Russia through Ukraine. Croatian President Zoran Milanovic said this on Sunday, 15 January.

“Washington and NATO are waging an indirect war against Russia through Ukraine,” the Croatian leader was quoted by newspaper Istra24 as saying.

He also criticised the course of imposing anti-Russian sanctions, stressing the nonsense and lack of the ultimate goal of the restrictions. According to Milanovic, this is a favourite technique of Washington, which is applied to any geopolitical upheaval.

“And what are we supposed to be? Slaves of America?” – Milanovic concluded.

This was his reaction to the statement of Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, who criticized the decision of Croatian MPs not to participate in the European Union’s EUMAM Ukraine mission, which implies a two-year training of 15,000 Ukrainian fighters in the use of Western arms, on the French 24 TV channel. The drills will take place on the territory of the European bloc: training bases will be deployed, for example, in Poland, Germany and France.

According to Milanovic, the EU mission contradicts the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU, as the document provides for such events only outside the EU member states. As the Croatian leader summed up, the European bloc is thus “for the first time in its history” directly involved in a conflict.

Zoran Milanovic rejected the request for training of Ukrainian nationalists as early as last November. Meanwhile, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó also refused to participate in the EU initiative.
