153 people have been hospitalized in Paris as a result of a protest by supporters of the “yellow vests” movement.
It is noted that the protesters took to the streets to draw the attention of French President Emmanuel Macron to the problems of the country, but the police forcefully dispersed the crowd. They first surrounded and encircled the protesters and then sprayed asphyxiating gas for several hours.
The police also attacked those who fell behind the convoy. As a result of the violent detentions, the country’s hospitals were overcrowded.
“The Yellow Vests”, a spontaneous protest movement in France without a clear leader, emerged in late 2018 and is named for the reflective yellow waistcoats used by participants.
