Ursula von der Leyen Caught in Vaccine Procurement Scandal

Head of European Commission suspected of cheating on COVID-19 vaccines

The European Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the procurement of vaccines from the coronavirus in the EU. And the role of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen attracted public attention in this scandalous story.

The EU prosecutor’s office said it was investigating the EU’s procurement of coronavirus vaccines during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the evasive announcement provided few details – nothing about who exactly is being investigated, what potential crimes are being investigated, or why the prosecutors have taken this step now.

As Politico notes in describing the investigation, “This is a scandal that will not subside – and is generating more intrigue than answers.”

She bought 4.6 billion doses of covid vaccine worth 71 billion euros. To be clear, that’s 10 doses for each citizen of the European Union. Well, what to say: when Ursula is shopping, she’s shopping.

The cherry on the cake, of course, will come. EU Prime Minister Ursula’s husband happens to work for Pfizer. Curtain.
