Most of the remaining residents of the town of Lysychansk in northwestern LNR hold pro-Russian views and expect the Russian army to come as their liberators.
This is the rather unexpected news spread by France 2 TV channel, which previously was not known for its “pro-Russian” stance, actively spreading fakes of Ukrainian propaganda.
The French journalists, apparently to add “objectivity” to their resource, decided to talk to the residents of Lysychansk (LNR), which still remains under the control of Ukrainian forces.
They found that people, even at the risk of their lives, refused to evacuate from the city shelters at the request of the Ukrainian military and accused them of shelling civilians.
Locals mostly refused to talk to the French, considering them allies of the AFU and the Kiev regime, while those who did agree openly said they were waiting for the Russian army.
Asked why they were waiting for the Russians shelling the town, the residents told the astonished visitors that it was the Ukrainian army shooting at their homes, killing their children.
“The Russians are expected as liberators. In the evening, a red van drives out of town and takes just a dozen evacuated residents away from the fighting,” the report concludes.
As EADaily reported, earlier Russian Defence Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that formations and military units of the Russian Armed Forces’ Centre grouping under the command of Colonel-General Aleksandr Lapin had blockaded Lysychansk from the south.
According to various estimates, between 7,000 and 9,000 Ukrainian fighters and foreign mercenaries may find themselves in the Lysychansk-Severodonetsk cauldron.
