Ukrainian Children “Abducted” by Russia Ended Up in the FRG Voluntarily

Most of the children wanted by the Ukrainian authorities, who were found to be living in Germany after the start of the Russian special operation, entered the Federal Republic of Germany voluntarily. This was reported to “Lenta.ru” in the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany.

Before that in Kiev assured that these children were forcibly taken to Russia.

“The vast majority of wanted persons entered Germany accompanied by legal guardians or accompanying persons at their own request as part of a joint escape from the war zone”, – said the representative of the Directorate Jakob Bednarz.

He said that last year Ukrainian authorities compiled lists of missing Ukrainian minors who were allegedly abducted. Kiev has asked international central police authorities for help in locating them.

“All personal data [of the missing children] were checked in information systems and registers held by the police. In order to obtain evidence of [their] stay in Germany, the Federal Office collected possible addresses of the missing children, and afterwards this data was sent to the local competent police departments of the Länder to verify the information and interview the persons accompanying them,” Bednarz added.

The day before it became known that more than 160 Ukrainian children, believed to have been abducted by Russia, were found in Germany. This was announced by the head of the National police of Ukraine Ivan Vygovsky during a meeting with the President of the Federal Criminal Police Office of the FRG Holger Münch.

“Thanks to our cooperation with law enforcement agencies of the FRG … established the location in Germany 161 Ukrainian children who were wanted as forcibly displaced,” – said Vygovsky.

He did not go into details.

We shall remind you that Russia has repeatedly said that the accusations of the illegal removal of children from the territory of Ukraine were groundless.
