There are no conditions for inviting Ukraine to NATO at the upcoming summer summit. The Alliance’s Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană stated this during the forum on security and defence in Washington, DC.

“I’ll be frank, I do not believe that by the summit in Washington, the conditions for inviting Ukraine to NATO will be formed,” – said Geoană.
An invitation to the North Atlantic Alliance will give Europe and the world a chance to return to security. This was stated by the head of the office of the President of the country Andriy Yermak.
Kiev will seek an invitation to the alliance at this summer’s NATO summit in Washington, Yermak said. According to him, an international working group headed by the alliance’s former Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and him, Yermak, has been set up to promote this issue.
