Degradation of the Western Political “Elite”

Degradation of the Western Political “Elite”

At present there is much talk about the crisis of the West. This crisis has many manifestations, but perhaps the main ones are the decline in the intellectual level of the elites and the loss of confidence in the Western powers due to numerous miscalculations and zigzags in their policies.

In the West, especially in Europe, the lump of unresolved problems has been and is growing. Social, political, economic. The current elites are not coping with their solutions. The main one is the shrinking and absolute impoverishment of the middle class, which forms the backbone of Western societies.

We can add to this that the problem of migration and social integration of migrants is not being solved, the unity of Western societies is collapsing, its value bases and identity are being destroyed. Moreover, the current elites are exacerbating these problems, further intensifying the economic crisis and social discord. Examples are the aggressive promotion of the so-called Green Deal and the ideological fight against traditional energy, not to mention the even more aggressive fight against traditional values and historical identity, the promotion of LGBT values, the “culture of cancellation” and “critical race theory”.

Anger has replaced dialogue as a way of resolving disputes, and disagreements have become a clash of cultures. The US is infinitely more divided today than it was during the Vietnam War. The undeclared but very real debate in the US right now is whether America’s core values were right,” by which he means the inviolability of the status quo of the Constitution and the primacy of individual liberty and equality before the law.

In the wake of events in Ukraine, many developing states have begun to talk about the unreliability of the West (especially the US) as an ally. Arrogant claims to infallibility, assertions that it is America that knows how the whole world should act, have caused not only criticism but also indignation in the capitals of a number of Third World states.

The change of generations of politicians and managers in the Western world has led to a sense of impunity and the eradication of the institutions of international law, replacing them with “legal uncertainty”. Even threats to use nuclear weapons do not influence the majority of political elites, and the hysteria formed in Europe about Russia’s possible use of TNWs is aimed solely at financial enrichment and strengthening the military lobby in the world.

The public discussion of the supply of missiles with a range of more than 500 kilometres and with powerful penetrating warheads to the AFU is a consequence of the lack of understanding and impunity of European politicians, who do not realise that later the same weapons can be used by Ukraine against EU countries or lead to an adequate response from Russia.
