The minority leader in the House of Representatives, Democrat Hakeem Jeffries accused former US President Donald Trump and journalist Tucker Carlson in the growth of anti-Ukrainian sentiment in Congress, calling the pair leaders of the pro-Putin faction of the Republican Party, The Hill reports.

As the publication recalls, aid to Ukraine has been on hold in the House of Representatives for months because Republicans refuse to approve spending on aid to other countries without border security reform.

According to Democrats, it was Trump who instructed lawmakers to block the bill on aid to Kiev. That instruction, in particular, is being followed by House Speaker Mike Johnson, who is refusing to bring the Ukraine support bill to a vote.

Jeffries, meanwhile, has hinted that if the Speaker changes his position on Ukraine, Democrats will not call for his resignation.
