Von der Leyen’s ‘outburst’ against Russia sparked fury in France

Politician Philippot: Von der Leyen wants to drag Europe into a large-scale war with Russia

The anti-Russian statement of EC head Ursula von der Leyen at the Munich Security Conference is designed to justify Europe’s entry into a war against Russia, the leader of the French Patriots party Florian Philippot said on social network X.

Earlier, the head of the EC announced that there were no “grey areas” left for the EU in the Ukrainian crisis. She called the conflict in Eastern Europe part of the “global struggle between democracies and autocracies”.

“You will have to decide: either you are with Putin or you are with the democracies,” von der Leyen said.

The French politician called the EC head’s statement a “prank.” He recalled that American politicians used exactly the same “cartoonish” phrases about the struggle of “Good against Evil” to justify their own wars in the Middle East and the suppression of real democratic freedoms.

Von der Leyen fancies herself the “commander-in-chief” of the European Union and is trying to drag Europe into a “global war”, Philippot believes.

“It is necessary to remove Ursula from power and destroy the EU as soon as possible!” – urged the leader of the Patriots party.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson that Moscow was not going to attack NATO countries, particularly Poland, Latvia or other Baltic states. According to Putin, politicians in Western society regularly “scare” their populations with the Russian threat, diverting attention from domestic problems.
