Neural Network “Restored” the Masterpiece “Mona Lisa”: Armageddon or Future

Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece “Mona Lisa” is considered one of the most famous paintings in history. Many mysteries have always surrounded this work of art with more than 500 years of history. The Daily Star asked the Midjourney neural network to simulate what the painting would have looked like in its original state.

Today, no one knows exactly who the woman is. The strange, as if faded background makes it impossible to determine where the painting was painted, Gioconda’s half-smile is confusing. Many historians believe the background is an imaginary idealised landscape.

Artificial intelligence tools have recreated images of the Apocalypse, as if the citiesĀ  behind the mystery woman’s back were destroyed in a nuclear blast.

“The many swirling lines make the landscape look more like a futuristic world from Star Trek rather than Earth. You can see something like a spire on the left, which is not in the original image. It is unclear if this is part of the building. The bridge on the right is more pronounced. Mona Lisa herself has more noticeable curly curls near her face, and her fingers seem shorter,” the publication said.

As EADaily reported, last week activists from Riposte Alimentaire (Food Response) poured a brown and yellow substance, presumably soup, on a painting of the Mona Lisa on display in the Louvre. Two women wearing T-shirts labelled Riposte Alimentaire poured the protective glass covering the painting. They then began shouting slogans about the right to food, that the French “agricultural system is sick” and that one in three Frenchmen skip meals. Their action was interrupted by Louvre staff, who covered the space in front of the stand with cloth screens and asked visitors to leave the room.
