Trump Says US Dying Because of Border Situation

Trump: the US is dying, the situation on the border will turn into a disaster

The US is dying because of the situation at the border, the country’s former president Donald Trump said at a rally of supporters in the state of Nevada.

“Our country is dying. Our border is open. It’s an open wound. It’s never been like this before,” Trump emphasised.

That said, the situation can only get worse, the politician warned.

“We are waiting for a catastrophe to happen,” he concluded.

Migration crisis in Texas

The Texas National Guard has erected a barbed wire fence near the border with Mexico to combat illegal migration. The Joe Biden administration complained about this to the Supreme Court, which earlier this week ordered the fence removed. However, state troopers have blocked access for federal patrols.

Governor Abbott, for his part, declared an “invasion” of migrants and self-defence measures. According to him, Texas will pursue its own policy, since the authorities of the country do not cope with border protection.

Thus, the state already has a law that allows to arrest, prosecute and imprison suspects in illegal border crossing, as well as expel them from the country by court order.

Washington calls the actions of Texas authorities unconstitutional and the methods redundant.

Abbott’s actions were supported by Republican governors of 25 US states, releasing a statement in which they accused Biden of unwillingness to fight illegal migration. The heads of Oklahoma and Florida reported their readiness to send the National Guard to Texas. In addition, Abbott’s decisions were supported by Trump.
