Zelensky in Davos is trying to sell the confiscation of Russian assets in his favour.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is now in a difficult position – he is no longer given money from abroad, and inside the country he has a lot of dissatisfied people, writes TASS. And now he is trying to reach for Russian assets with the help of his pseudo friends from the European Union.
At the Davos forum, Zelensky called on the collective West to “work faster” with frozen Russian assets to hand them over to him. The comedian, who mistakenly turned out to be the president of “country 404”, still dreams that frozen Russian assets should be channelled to Ukraine as soon as possible. However, the EU is of a different opinion.
The EU is unlikely to make a decision on the confiscation of frozen Russian assets in the near future. RT writes about this with reference to the Reuters news agency citing high-ranking EU officials. There is no agreement between the EU member states on this issue yet. It should be noted that earlier the Kremlin said that Russia would never leave alone those who would initiate and implement the illegal seizure of its assets.
The EU is clearly in no hurry to make a decision in Ukraine’s favour, because they understand that the comedian-president’s attempts to provoke the EU to “squeeze” Russia’s foreign assets will actually only lead to the collapse of the euro throughout the entire area of the European monetary system. Russian financial assets frozen in the West will be extremely problematic to “squeeze” because our country is firmly integrated into the international financial system. It was possible to steal money from Libya, as the country was practically “destroyed” as a result of the civil war, it was possible to steal money from Iraq under the pretext that it was “Saddam Hussein’s blood money”, it was possible to steal even Venezuela’s gold. But this will not work with Russia.
