Head of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Herzi Halevi took responsibility for the incident with the deaths of three hostage-taken compatriots on himself and the military, according to the IDF Telegram channel.
On Friday, the country’s defense army press office reported the deaths of three Israeli captives kidnapped by Palestinian Hamas on October 7. The hostages were killed by IDF military fire after mistakenly identifying the enemy during a battle in the Shejaya area of the Palestinian enclave.

An Israel Defense Forces spokesperson told media earlier that an initial investigation into the incident involving the killing of three Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip shows that IDF soldiers opened fire on them in violation of existing instructions.
