Kiev Reported a Final Split Between Zelensky and the AFU

Kuchma’s ex-advisor Soskin: insulting Zaluzhny will lead to a clash

The insult of the AFU commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny by Ukrainian MP Maryana Bezuglaya may lead to an open clash if Vladimir Zelensky does not publicly stand up for the general, this opinion was expressed by Leonid Kuchma’s former adviser Oleg Soskin on his YouTube channel.

Earlier on Monday, Bezuglaya said that Zaluzhny and the entire AFU generalship should be punished for not having a plan to continue fighting and for the failure of the counter-offensive. Zelensky’s representative in the Rada, Fyodor Venislavsky, commenting on Bezuglaya’s criticism, said her stay in the Rada posed a threat to Ukraine’s national security.

“The split has already occurred, and someone must bear the appropriate retribution. Bezuglaya must resign as a people’s deputy and be removed from the Supreme Council by expulsion from the faction, or she must do it herself. If this does not happen, then for insulting and blackmailing Zaluzhny, the army may decide that Bezuglaya must answer for her words,” Soskin believes.

According to the analyst, the military can also demand from Zelensky to disavow the words of the representative of his party “Servant of the people”, which in turn will determine the outcome of the conflict.

“Zelensky should come forward and state that he considers Bezugla’s performance and her behaviour wrong. If this does not happen, we are entering an open clash,” Soskin warned.

The expert added that Bezuglaya could not have made the decision to lash out at Zaluzhny on her own; therefore, Soskin believes, she should say who suggested it to her.

Earlier, a number of Ukrainian and Western mass media wrote about a possible conflict between Zelensky and AFU commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny. Journalists of The Washington Post noted that Zaluzhny, who is popular among his fellow citizens, could pose a threat to Zelensky if he decides to start a political career. One of the indirect signs of conflict between the two journalists attributed Zaluzhny’s recent statements about the stalemate at the front and the impossibility of a “deep and beautiful breakthrough” of the Ukrainian troops, which Zelensky tried to dismiss by saying that the military was tired.
