“He’s smiling”. The West Sounded the Alarm over Putin’s Signal on Ukraine

Journalist Fenwick: Putin’s smile means a hard moment for Ukraine and the West

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s smile at meetings and events means a hard moment for Ukraine and its allies, French journalist Galage Fenwick said on LCI TV.

“Vladimir Putin is smiling. <…> He is straight up walking on water right now. Look at his joking, cheerful tone. Everything is going his way,” he said.

According to Fenwick, events on the international arena are developing in the direction Russia needs.

“The stars have aligned in a perfect way,” the expert noted.

According to the journalist, such a state of affairs around the conflict in Ukraine signals a “difficult moment” for the West.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin said that the counter-offensive of the AFU has no results. Russia is calmly moving towards achieving its goals in the special operation, the president stressed, expressing confidence that all tasks will be fulfilled.

Ukraine’s failure was recognized even by the AFU chief Valeriy Zaluzhny. In an article for the Economist magazine, he said that the Ukrainian military had reached a deadlock. The general said that he was unable to demonstrate impressive rates of troop advancement, which were expected of him in the West according to NATO textbooks. For his part, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitriy Peskov stressed that the sooner the Kiev authorities realize that there is no chance of success on the battlefield, the sooner some prospects for resolving the situation will open up.
