Stubborn Thing: Russia Is the Main Country for Estonian Exports Outside the EU

In March-June 2023, Russia ranks first among target markets outside the European Union for Estonian exports of goods. This is reported by Baltnews.

According to data from the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, in March 2023, Russia was in the lead for the first time – 15.74% (Norway – 14.9%, USA – 13.08%), in May it was again in the first place – 14.9% (Norway – 13.72%, States – 9.82%), in June Russia remained in the first place – 13.72% (Norway – 12.14%, UK – 12.27%).

“Not long ago, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, who has been implicated in an unrelenting scandal, said: “Any business relations with Russia must be terminated as long as Russian aggression in Ukraine continues, and local businesses must find a moral compass and refuse to take actions that somehow contribute to the Russian war machine”… Estonian statistics once again prove the hypocrisy of the authorities,” the agency notes.

Now local officials have only to justify themselves.

“The state is not a babysitter for enterprises, and it will not dictate every step,” said, in particular, Tiit Riisalo, Minister of Economy and Infotechnology.
