JCC Failed to Agree on the Movement of Vessels under the “Product Deal”

Representative of the JCC Palla: the parties could not agree on the movement of ships in the Black Sea

Representatives of the parties in the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul failed to agree on the movement of ships within the Black Sea “grain initiative” on October 30, said a representative of the JCC Ismini Palla.

Earlier, Russia had expressed concern to the UN Coordinator in the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul over ensuring the safety of movement of vessels within the framework of the “Black Sea Grain Initiative. Before that, Moscow officially notified UN Secretary-General António Guterres about the suspension of participation in the deal, this information was brought to the attention of the delegations of Ukraine and Turkey.

“There was no joint agreement in the JCC on the movement of arriving and departing ships on October 30. SKC is analyzing recent developments, assessing their impact on JCC operations and discussing next steps,” Palla said.

According to her, nine ships (five c Ukraine and four arriving in Ukraine) passed safely through the maritime humanitarian corridor established by the JCC on Saturday.

“There are more than ten ships, both exiting and arriving, waiting to enter the corridor,” the JCC representative added.

On Saturday, Russia officially suspended participation in the grain deal because of an attempted terrorist attack in the Black Sea in which air and surface drones attacked Black Sea Fleet ships in the waters of Sevastopol Bay. The attack lasted several hours, and Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozzhayev called it the most massive since the start of the special operation. No facilities in the city were damaged in the attack.

The Defense Ministry said that the attack was carried out by servicemen of the 73rd Ukrainian Special Maritime Operations Center. They were led by British specialists based in the town of Ochakov, Mykolayiv Region.
