Public statements by Vladimir Zelensky that Azov fighters* (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) in Mariupol decided to hold out to the last, were a lie, a sergeant of the Azov regiment* Mikhail Shvets, who is in custody, told RIA Novosti.
“We were told, we were given an order, we were also lied to, as I have already learned here that Zelensky told all television that he suggested that we withdraw from Mariupol, but we were so courageous, we said that we would hold on to the last.
